Challenges: In working to enhance the global market for California canned Cling Peaches, the CCPB faces intense challenges from foreign competitors. California growers abilities to sell their Peaches have been severely limited by excessive European Union subsidies for European producers, specifically the Greeks. Additionally, exceptionally low production costs in China and South Africa have enabled growers in these two countries to capture large shares of traditionally US controlled markets. The CCPB must overcome these competitive advantages in order to accomplish its goals. Benefits: The California Cling Peach Board serves California growers by acting as a representative force which attempts to overcome the challenges of the current global market. |
