Evanston Township High School District,

Helping Students Make Healthy Food Choices

Evanston Township High School (ETHS) District 202 is a four-year, comprehensive high school occupying a 65-acre campus in Evanston, IL, a Chicago suburb along the Lake Michigan shore.   ETHS serves the multiracial city of Evanston and a small portion of the neighboring village of Skokie, for a total district population of approximately 78,000.   Together, the two communities offer an ethnic, economic, racial, and cultural diversity that is reflected in the student body.

ETHS has a total enrollment of approximately 3,200 students. The ETHS Food Service Dept. operates four student cafeterias and one faculty/staff dining area that together serve approximately 1,500 customers each day.   (Juniors and seniors have open lunch.)   The Food Service Dept. also prepares 2,100-2,400 meals each day for the neighboring elementary school district, District 65.

Included in this issue of the Peach Press is one of ETHS's favorite peach recipes, which will also be featured in the California Cling Peach Board 's Recipe Network. Look in upcoming issues for additional peach recipes from ETHS.
